2007 International Conference of
CELAO

Latin American Studies Council of Asia and Oceania
COEX, Seoul, Korea, June 21~23, 2007
It is a pleasure to invite you to the
second conference of Latin American Studies Council of Asia and Oceania (CELAO). CELAO was established in Osaka, Japan, in September 2003, as an initiative to create a network of Latinamericanists
working in the Asia-Pacific region. CELAO conference is held every two years. The first conference was held at La Trobe University
in Melbourne, Australia, in July 14~16, 2005.
The Latin American Studies Association of Korea (LASAK), with the sponsorship of the Korean Council on Latin America and the Caribbean (KCLAC), the Korea
Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), and the Korea International
Trade Association (KITA), will organize the second CELAO conference at COEX, Seoul, in June 21~23, 2007. LASAK hopes to bring together scholars from Asia and Oceania, as well as from the Americas and Europe. COEX is located in the dynamic
business center of Seoul, and has easy access to the historical downtown area by
subway, and to the airport by limousine bus.
Organization
and Call for Papers
Papers on any topic in the Humanities and Social Sciences related to Latin
America or Latin American countries are welcome as well as panel proposals on particular topics.
Please send
the title and an abstract of your paper (maximum 300 words), including 4-6 key words
describing your topic.
Proposals for individual papers or
panels should be submitted by December 15, 2006.
Full papers must be submitted by May 31, 2007. The following format will be appreciated: MS Word, Times Roman, font size 12.
Papers may
be presented either in English or Spanish.
