COEX, Seoul, Korea, June 21~23, 2007

It is a pleasure to invite you to the second conference of Latin American Studies Council of Asia and Oceania (CELAO). CELAO was established in Osaka, Japan, in September 2003, as an initiative to create a network of Latinamericanists working in the Asia-Pacific region. CELAO conference is held every two years. The first conference was held at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia, in July 14~16, 2005.

The Latin American Studies Association of Korea (LASAK), with the sponsorship of the Korean Council on Latin America and the Caribbean (KCLAC), the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), will organize the second CELAO conference at COEX, Seoul, in June 21~23, 2007. LASAK hopes to bring together scholars from Asia and Oceania, as well as from the Americas and Europe. COEX is located in the dynamic business center of Seoul, and has easy access to the historical downtown area by subway, and to the airport by limousine bus.

Organization and Call for Papers

Papers on any topic in the Humanities and Social Sciences related to Latin America or Latin American countries are welcome as well as panel proposals on particular topics.

Please send the title and an abstract of your paper (maximum 300 words), including 4-6 key words describing your topic.

Proposals for individual papers or panels should be submitted by December 15, 2006.

Full papers must be submitted by May 31, 2007. The following format will be appreciated: MS Word, Times Roman, font size 12.

Papers may be presented either in English or Spanish.

 Congreso Internacional de CELAO 2007

COEX, Seúl, Corea, 21~23 de Junio de 2007

Con esta occasión tenemes el agrado de invitarlos al segundo congreso del Consejo de Estudios Latinoamericanos de Asia y de Oceanía (CELAO). Formado en Osaka en septiembre de 2003, CELAO pretende construir un foro de discusión para los latinoamericanistas de nuestra región (Asia y Oceanía) y para los investigadores latinoamercanistas del resto del mundo. El congreso de CELAO se celebra cada dos años. El primer congreso tuvo lugar en La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia entre el 14 y el 16 de julio de 2005.

Latin American Studies Association of Korea (LASAK), con el patrocinio de Korean Council on Latin America and the Caribbean (KCLAC), Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), y Korea International Trade Association (KITA), organizará  el segundo congreso de CELAO en COEX,  Seúl, desde el 21 al 23 de junio de 2007. LASAK espera reunir en Seúl a los investigadores tanto de Asia y Oceanía así como de los Estados Unidos, América Latina y Europa. COEX está localizado en el centro de negocios de la ciudad, con un fácil acceso a los centros históricos por metro, y al aeropuerto por las bus.

BASES

Pueden inscribirse mesas de discusión completas, alrededor de un tema específico, o trabajos individuales que serán insertos dentro de las mesas que se vayan formando conforme se reciban las respuestas a la presente convocatoria.

Enviar el título y resumen (máximo 300 palabras) incluyendo cuatro a seis palabras claves que describan el tema seleccionado.

Se aceptarán propuestas individuales de ponencia o propuestas de mesas de trabajo hasta el 15 de diciembre de 2006.

El periodo de admisión de originales completos finaliza el 31 de mayo de 2007.  El siguiente formato será apreciado: MS Word, Times Roman, font size 12.

Los trabajos podrán ser presentados tanto en español como en inglés.
